The skill of improvisation is vital to an actor's ability to adapt to an unexpected situation onstage. It can also be used to create comedic and creative scenes. At Amador High School we have been blessed with an improv teacher who is dedicated and fun to work with. Scott Coleman, after years of performing in a professional improv troupe, first began volunteering at Amador as an improv teacher six years ago, and then began teaching improv at Argonaut High School as well. Although we were sad to see him split allegiances, we were proud of him for taking Argonaut to the Lenaea Theatre Festival with their long-form improv, the Harold, which was well received and well loved by the audience.
Improv workshops are on Saturdays after workdays. You do not have to be enrolled in Amador High School to attend improv workshops.
